This film is exceptionally compelling and phenomenally acted; but the subject matter is so thoroughly depressing and horrifying that it left us wondering if the experience of watching it was actually one we'd rather have gone without.
Not to overstate the fact, but this is one of the best action movies ever made. It had absolutely no business being so much damn fun. Do not miss this one.

A very odd yet effective film with prolonged slow passages that either serve to flesh out the characters or delay the action, depending on your perspective...

Not quite up to the normal Stephen Chow standards--and Shu Qui's "pouting duck" face is much over-used--but a good time nonetheless. Recommended for fans of any of the lead actors.

This was one of Rowan Atkinson's primary influences for "Mr. Bean", and it's plain to see. Jacques Tati's simple yet subtly finessed physical comedy is pure genius.
