The definitive Chow Yun Fat/John Woo film. A masterpiece.
There's hardly any comedy here. Regardless, this very slow-paced and uneventful film somehow gets under your skin. Compelling performances by the leads.
The film itself is really dated, chock full of mediocre gags, and is a bit difficult to sit through. But the fight sequences make up for it. This gem is easily on a par with the best films of its era in terms of fight choreography.
