Overview:	Following a bungled drug smuggling operation, Alex and his five misfit partners embark on a nightmare voyage. As the mighty leg of an apparently abandoned oil rig looms out of the mist, their seemingly safe haven is the home of an unimaginable horror where dread lives in the water-logged shadows and terror lurks around every chilling corner. For the hi-tech platform is a secret laboratory for genetic engineering research. Scientists have taken a package of synthetic DNA named Proteus and used its capabilities for instant evolution, experimenting on living tissue. The horrifying result is a constantly mutating, highly intelligent killing machine with the ability to consume every living thing in its sight.
