This is an incredible film which will astonish you with its ability to deftly navigate between poetic dialog, physical comedy, and aesthetic artistry. We're still not quite sure how they pulled it off, but they did.
Plot: A retired cop is summoned by his ex-boss to save his kidnapped son from the hands of a deadly Japanese triad. Action violence and a little romance makes "Gangland Odyssey" a promising treat!

The documentary portion of the film is fantastic. Unfortunately, the "short film" segments are irritating, insufficiently lit, and not of much interest.
Plot: After murdering his parents, teenager Ryo is sent to a violent boys' detention center, where he is bullied mercilessly. Soon he finds a mentor who teaches him martial arts, enabling him to strike back.
