Plot:	High points abound in this gorgeous Technicolor cartoon classic. Thumb-sized Lilliputians construct derricks and use blocks and tackle to bind the sleeping Gulliver. Gulliver awakens and becomes a hero when his size terrifies the attacking Blefuscians.
Overview:	1939, it was Hollywood's finest hour for cinema classics, but sometimes lost in the long list of that year's movies is the lone feature-length animation masterwork from the benchmark year: "Gulliver's Travels", one of only two cartoon features ever made by the innovative Fleischer Studios, creators of the memorable Betty Boop and Popeye shorts. High points abound in this gorgeous Technicolor cartoon classic (presented here in a new digitized transfer of a newly struck print taken from the original negative). Thumb-sized Lilliputians construct derricks and use blocks and tackle to bind the sleeping Gulliver. Gulliver awakens and becomes a hero when his size terrifies the attacking Blefuscians. King Little "Lindy hops" with Gulliver's fingers during the victory celebration. Character, gags, and activity delight in scene after scene. "It's A Hap-Hap-Happy Day" went one of the songs from the film's Oscar-nominated score, and now those happy days continue for a new generation. In the eighteen hectic months that went into the making of the film, the Fleischer brothers and their staff created a treat that families and animation fans would enjoy for all time.
