Lau Kar Leung's terrific choreography is well realized by talented leads Meng Fei and Shoji Kurata. Almost all the fight scenes take place atop a sinister forest of booby-trapped wooden poles.
Not on a par with his greatest films, but it's a treat to watch Gordon Liu here nonetheless. Several slow spots, but some nice kung fu and a great final showdown.
This film is surprisingly engaging and exciting, as well as informative! Learn about the many Chinese and Japanese fighting styles, and see them executed with style by Gordon Liu et al.
