Buddha's Name Be Praised! We're so incredibly happy to be able to offer you this film on DVD, after it's only been available on VHS for years! This film represents the pinnacle of old school martial arts, Gordon Liu and the Shaw Studios at their best. No martial arts fan should sleep another night without witnessing this masterpiece!
The repetitiveness of the storyline is somewhat trying, but the top-tier cast and some excellent fight sequences save the day.
For a film starring Lau Kar Leung, Hsiao Hou, Kara Hui Ying-Hung, Wang Lung Wei, and even Gordon Liu, there's surprisingly little action and a lot of nonsense. Nonetheless, their presence, and what little action there is, make the movie enjoyable.
Very overrated, in our opinion. Chang Cheh directs an all-star cast, but hardly any of the action scenes are noteworthy or seem to show off the fighters very well. The cheesy music doesn't help matters whatsoever.
