Just a middle-of-the-road old-schooler. Major pieces of the story don't make sense, and the fights are a mixed bag (some are good; some are bad; and the villain in the final fight scene is laughably fat, slow, and inflexible).
This was the first film that really caused the world to sit up and take notice of Jackie Chan, and righfully so. This is a great example of his physical and comedic genius, the film is truly a joy.
A fun actioner with lots of brilliant comedy courtesy of actor Sam Lee. If the surprisingly good fight scenes don't appeal to you, perhaps the three young men's hilarious interaction will.
