As fans of the series (which completely derailed in Part 6), this is a very special film to us. Halloween returns to its roots in this very effective installement, delivering enjoyable dialog, characters, storyline, and scares.
Even by Alfred Hitchcock standards, this film is amazing. And this Bernard Herrmann score is perhaps his best--his strings-only orchestration beautifully complements Hitch's black-and-white photography.
