Sort of a companion piece to the original "Drunken Master", this film (released just before "Drunken Master") features much of the same cast, crew, and action style. So if you liked DM (and how could you not!?), we highly recommend this film--and vice versa.
Though this film is fun, we feel that the amateurish direction severely diminishes its overall effect. Both of the big fight scenes were shot much too close-up to be able to really follow much; and the car races are laughably sped up. There is some real gold hidden among the pyrite, however. Jackie's martial arts performance is consistently energetic, and his trademark acrobatic escapades still wow.
