Plot:	Working the underbelly of the Paris streets as a narcotics cop, Lucien "Lulu" Marguet is driven only by a desire to rid the streets of dealers and their drugs. However, his situation is stressed by lack of funding and his corrupt, incompetent colleagues.
Overview:	Taking its title from the French law against the possession of illegal drugs, "L.627" is a gritty, realist police drama from acclaimed French director Bertrand Tavernier. Working the underbelly of the Paris streets as a narcotics cop, Lucien "Lulu" Marguet is a man who refuses to play by the rules, much to the disenchantment of his supervisors. Assigned to the drug squad, he is driven only by a desire to rid the streets of dealers and prevent innocent lives being destroyed by addiction to heroin. However, Lulu's professional ideals are constantly tested by the pressure of poor funding, and corrupt, incompetent colleagues.
