Tedious, pedestrian ghost-drama which thinks it can rely on its "stunning visuals" to carry the played-out story, but which is sorely mistaken. This movie's all style and no substance--and, frankly, its "style" is unoriginal and does nothing for us.
A classic, and for good reason! This thrilling horror-action flick pulls off quite a feat by creating a suspense-filled atmosphere that doesn't crumble--quite the opposite--once the "monster" is on-screen.
This is a terrifically fun and creative film. Its uniqueness is rivaled only by its quality.
This film is the prescription for HK's recent cinematic woes, a throwback to the action-centric films of the "good old days": people smashing through glass windows, walls, and tables; stunts that make you wince and then rewind and then smile; and fu fights that are fast and fierce. A fun ride!
