A perfect movie? No. A martial arts extravaganza that both boggles the mind and soothes the soul? Yes. This is pure, concentrated martial arts joy.
Like "Halloween", this is classic John Carpenter: simple, simple, simple. The pulsing score and constant threat of attack keep you riveted even when nothing in particular is happening.
This is a surprisingly well done and scary horror flick that slipped under most people's radar. Well worth a look for fans of "High Tension" and the like.
This film is incredibly overrated (as is the entire series), and the hockey-mask-wearing "Jason" we've all come to know is not even featured in this installment (the hockey mask doesn't appear until Part 3). Skip this clone and watch "Halloween" instead.
