A different take on the "Heroic Bloodshed" genre. Cult star Donnie Yen directs this gritty and emotionally dark masterpiece.
Many people really liked this film's slow pace and "flawed" characters; but we feel the film just didn't have too much to say, and the corrupt characters were too sleazy and selfish to really care about.
The fights here (and there are plenty!) are very well choreographed and all the fighters move quickly and gracefully. Highly recommended for martial arts cinema fans who can do without the "cinema".
