The DVD is pretty barebones. Unfortunately, the movie is fullscreen (though the opening credits are in widescreen). Widescreen is the only way to watch a martial arts movie, and though being fullscreen doesn't hurt Deadend Of Besiegers too much, there are some action scenes where the cropping is painfully obvious. The disc comes with English, Cantonese, and Mandarin language tracks, and pretty decent English subtitles - although there is one portion of the movie where the subtitles are strangely absent.

One of the more amusing bits about the English dub is that, when Xiao is teaching Wuwechimatao Chinese, she teaches him to call himself a "Jap pirate, invalid, and turtle" - which makes no sense whatsoever. But with the English subtitles, you see she's actually teaching him to call himself "a son of a bitch". She's a tricky one, that Xiao.

TECH NOTES
98 min. Excellent video quality with a crisp picture and strong colors. English, Cantonese, and Mandarin audio tracks are all decent, although the Mandarin track sounds the best. The English subtitling is well done except for a few short scenes where they don't appear at all. Extras include a chapter index and language selection.
