The Odd One Dies All Content Used With Permission. Nomination at the Hong Kong Film Awards 1998: -So Good... - Hong Kong DVD Movie Reviews (see my profile) Whether you think they're the best dressed or the worst dressed youngsters complete with wicked hairdos and washed out mascara, Takeshi and Carman are still quintessential Wai Ka-fai characters. The theme of anti-heroes futilely trying to claw their way out of the enclosed world they're trapped in runs through all of Wai Ka-fai's films from Peace Hotel, Too Many Ways to be Number One, The Odd One Dies, Intruder to The Longest Nite. The Odd One Dies further distinguishes itself as one the least verbal Hong Kong films (try counting the number of lines of subtitles and you'll know).
