Good plot, plenty of action, good performances and an interesting setting, what more could you want in an action film!

The PLOT is ripped from "The Hot Rock" (Robert Redford) with some ideas taken from "How to steel a million" (Peter O'Toole). The Big finale on a dirigible reminds of "A view to a Kill". So there's nothing original in this department.

The ACTING is just laughable, so I'm not even going there.

The ACTION:
There are very few stunts with use of editing, close-ups and other tricks. (Probably the most disappointing - Shannon jumping in the speeding boat. They couldn't even THAT make look good.)

Quite a few fights, but lame choreography and the fact that nobody can really fight (except for Benny "The Jet" whose great skills are unmatched and pretty much wasted) make them nothing special.

But you get A LOT of gunplay and it's OK.

To me, the best part was the fight inside of a glass globe when Shannon beat the hell out of Benny. (HA!)

Overall there is plenty of action, especially in the second half of the movie, so you won't be bored. But you will be watching an "American" action so HK Flicks fans might be disappointed.

I was drawn to this film by the mere presence of Shannon Lee, she's as cute as a button. I must admit that another factor that drew me in is that I seem to be one of the few people who is actually fond of Michael Fitzgerald Wong, he's got more charisma than his brother, Russell and I absolutely love "Beast Cops" which is what exposed me to him. Oh yeah and Cory Yuen who has choreographed some of Jet Li's best work and yes I even enjoyed "The One."

Wong, Lee and three other folks with badly dubbed accents are planning on stealing the Czar's Prism while its on display in Prague, but they are met with unexpected competition by Thief (Jordan Chan) and Spy (Anita Yuen) a pair of pickpockets with high aspirations.

From this point numerous double crosses, gunfights and explosions ensue. Fitz Wong stands around being tall and brandishing guns while Lee does mucho butt-kicking. In her earliest fight one of her stances pays wonderful homage to her father.

Benny "the Jet" Urquidez plays Karloff, the villain and frankly I don't see how the guy is all that great. But you will never hear me tell him that to his face. Honestly, the reason he is such a good villain has got to be because he is ugly. The guy makes Darkman sans ninety minute masks look like GQ material.

"Enter The Eagles" is also unexpectedly moving. Jordan Chan is fantastic as Thief (aka David) and his death scene on the Tram was touching and had me choking back more than my share of tears. His final words to Spy are the stuff great tragedies are made of.

Simply put, "Enter The Eagles" transcends plotless high kicking exploits and becomes something of unexpected power that sticks with you and packs a ferocious emotional punch.

The terrific action sequences, energized directing, and another excellent performance by Jordan Chan should place this film somewhere relatively high on your to-see actioner list. Although we would've liked to see a lot more of Jordan Chan in this one...

The only real downside is the fact that the film is frequently bogged down by bad dialog, some cheesy digital effects, and unimpressive acting. We feel it's all worthwhile, however, for the fight scenes with Shannon Lee--featuring some nice martial arts choreography and gun play--which should definitely appeal to fans of the "girls with guns" genre. And you'll also get to see Benny "The Jet" Urquidez as Karloff, the film's primary antagonist. Benny always delivers the goods when it comes to fights...
