Overview:	The acclaimed dramatization of the life of a virtuous, Elliot Ness-like Hong Kong police inspector. The first installment of a trilogy. This semi-true story is about the rise of Lee Rock from policeman to head Police Commissioner for the Kowloon Yaumatei area. Andy Lau stars as Lee Rock. Paul Chun-Pui is the evil rising would-be Commissioner, Kwan Hoi-San is Andy's commander and mentor, Chingmy Yau is Lee Rock's first love who supposedly disappears after a big fire. Cheung Man is the triad leader's daughter who Lee Rock falls in love with and marries. Many HKFA nominations for this movie, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Andy Lau), Best Supporting Actress (Chingmy Yau) and a winning nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Kwan Hoi-San.
