This movie has action aplenty, with great gunplay and intense unarmed fight sequences. However this is not enough to make up for its shortcomings, the most egregious of which are exclusive to the US version of the film.

I am in total agreement with many of the reviewers concerning the English dubbing. It is absolutely awful. Making matters worse is the fact that this is the only way the film can be viewed on the US version of the film; there is no alternate Chinese-language track with subtitles and this is absolutely inexcusable. The English dubbing changes the film in many ways. The annoying nature of Jet Li's female coworker, which a few reviewers have commented on, is the perfect example. The English dub of the film makes her behavior much, much more grating than it is in the original-language version of the film. Pandering to the morons too lazy and stupid to read subtitles is a a sure-fire way to piss off the fans most likely to buy the DVD. The reviews I have read of this movie certainly seem to prove that point.

As abysmal as the dubbing is, it is not the worst sin of the US version, in my opinion. That dubious distinction is reserved for the absolutely dreadful soundtrack, not found in the original movie, added to the US DVD. Why in the world the American distributors of this film felt the need to add a horrible rap/hip-hop soundtrack to this is beyond me. But they did and it sucks bad, to put it mildly.

I cannot say the following forcefully enough: stay away from the US version of this movie at all costs.
