| Oh wow... I sat down to watch a movie with my girlfriend, and this is what we decided on! I wanted to introduce her to the world of Wong Jing comedies (hey, I love these silly movies), and this is no disappointment. Now you have to know that Wai-Go is the Cantonese pronunciation of Viagra to start. Episodic is the word here, as the not yet legal (but seemingly everywhere) Viagra pills take the country by storm. First we have good old Eric Tsang (one of the lucky stars...and most memorable to me in Fatal Vacation!). His wife loves to play mahjong rather than have sex, and his member just ain't working anymore. He discovers the key isn't Viagra though, it's new to the neighborhood sex goddess BOBO (played by the stunning Angie Cheung...BOBO...only in HK). Well, the neighborhood guys like to listen in to her doing the vertical fu with her hubby, and Tsang's little brother (ahem) begins to work. After being pushed away by his wife enough, and Bobo's bopper dying, he begins to call her and act out "erotic" fantasies. She, of course, loves this as well. Pink film parodies, schoolgirl spankings (and believe me, I don't care what you say, I buy into that fantasy...), and more wackiness ensues. But will a bite to the willy deter our boy (big snakes always bite dicks in HK it seems)? Will he meet his dream girl, or keep the fantasy where it belongs?
And then Anthony Wong enters the picture. He is a "superman" porn stud, who can just grind away until the ginseng dries up. But when he is told he will be banging the newest Japanese Sex Bomb AV starlet, he short circuits. Now this would be funny, but there are plenty of full suited sperm men (and Wong playing a flaccid penis!), and that just made it all the funnier. He begins to panic, and search for Viagra. But of course, none can be found. He realizes that his wife turns him on by doing housework...but how can that help? Wong's dad begins to experiment with Viagra as well...
I'm sure your aching with the suspense...but I'm not a spoiler. Anthony Wong delivers another nutty performance (in his sleep it would seem), and the movie hauls along at a great quick pace. There is superhero sperm, naughty jokes, Japanese topless girls, Wong playing a wang, and much more. Funny as hell! |
