Plot:Tsui Hark produced this comic book styled film directed by Ching Siu Tung. Based on the popular Uncle Choy picture books of the 1930s this rambunctious adventure saga is set in the Japanese-occupied Manchuria of that time.
Overview:The time is the 1930's. China is in a state of turmoil andflurry. The dethroned Emperor Pu-Yi establishes the Puppet State of Manchukuo in Manchuria and is cooperating with the Japanese in the testing of poisonous gas. The revolutionary army headed by Lieutenant Mong is designated to crush this vicious plot. During his mission, Mong comes across witty and valiant veteran Uncle Choy and his friends, who volunteer to help. Mong believes that Uncle Choy is too old to join them. How can Uncle Choy prove himself? And can they succeed in their mission?
