Plot:	Monsieur Beaumont uses a mysterious zombie potion on Madeleine, determined to steal her from her fiancee. But when he is dissatisfied with her emotionless being, he finds that they may get along better if he was a zombie, too...
Overview:	Monsieur Beaumont convinces Madeleine and Neil to get married on his Haitian plantation with the ulterior motive of convincing the beautiful young girl to run away with him. He turns to the devious Legendre (Lugosi), a shadowy character who controls people by turning them into zombies. After Beaumont uses Legendre's zombie potion on Madeleine, he is dissatisfied with her emotionless being. But Legendre has no intention of turning her back and he drugs Beaumont as well to add to his zombie collection. Meanwhile, grieving "widower" Neil is convinced by a local priest that Madeleine may still be alive and he seeks her out.
