| Overview: | 12 year old Mathilda (Natalie Portman) lives in a dingy apartment, where her father makes his living hiding drugs for crooked cops on the take. Her only sources of sanity at home are her little brother and her friendly but awkward neighbor, Leon (Jean Reno). But one day, everything changes when her entire family is executed while she's out shopping--it seems old dad wasn't being 100% honest with his employers.
After discovering the catastrophe, she takes refuge in Leon's apartment. He appears quite mysterious and eccentric but is seemingly harmless. A lifetime bachelor, and dedicated milk-guzzler, Leon doesn't quite know what to do with the girl, but it's clear his heart is in the right place.
After living in his apartment long enough, the mysteries soon begin to clear up, and young Mathilda figures out that her kind host is in reality a professional assassin--perhaps the best in the world--and she implores him to help her take merciless revenge on her family's killers.
