The private detective, Ippei’s assistant, Hamako is looking for a way to get out of her arranged marriage to a hick from the countryside. One day, she runs into a composer, Ginichi, on the train and asks him to pretend to be her fiancé. Unbeknownst to Hamako, Ginichi’s father is the super famous politician, Daikichi. Daikichi hires Ippei to search for his estranged daughter, Hiromi, who he wants to see just one more time before he dies.
The seemingly easy case suddenly goes horribly wrong when Hiromi is mysteriously killed. When Ginichi is also murdered, Ippei begins to suspect that someone is trying to kill Daikichi’s heirs. Thanks to his keen detective’s senses, and a clue left by one of the victims, Ippei soon learns the terrible truth behind the murders. What will become of Daikichi’s inheritance? Will Hamako be able to escape her marriage? The answers all wait within The Groper Train: Wedding Capriccio!
