Plot:	Two old friends, a gangster and a cop, are taking a road trip together to pay their last respects to a dead friend. Overview:	Shot in black-and-white, Bootleg Film is a darkly comic road movie about two men, Tatsuo (Emoto Akira) and Kiyoshi (Shiina Kippei), who are best friends despite being on opposite sides of the law. Tatsuo is a retiring Yakuza, while Kiyoshi is a cop, and the pair is traveling to attend the funeral of their mutual beloved, Fumiko. Along the way, the men's occupational and personal differences prevent the journey from being anything but smooth. Also known as Kaizokuban Bootleg Film, this absurdist homage to the French New Wave by writer-director Masahiro Kobayashi received Un Certain Regard at Cannes.
