This film is incredibly overrated (as is the entire series), and the hockey-mask-wearing "Jason" we've all come to know is not even featured in this installment (the hockey mask doesn't appear until Part 3). Skip this clone and watch "Halloween" instead.
After being closed for over twenty years, Camp Crystal Lake is re-opened, and its counselors are gruesomely offed one by one. Eventually we learn about the death of a boy that lead to the camp's original closure, and how it relates to the current murders.
Overview:
Camp Crystal Lake is reopening. Eager young counselors, eyes shining with idealism and hormones racing through their veins, are ready to lead guests in summer "Kumbayas" and games. But there's one game you won't find in the camp's guidebook. Someone likes to play Kill The Counselor.
Every movie fan knows that the monster always returns, and no film series (9 sequels at the time of this writing, with more to come) proves that better than the one that debuted with this shocker. He lives, they die. The "he" is Jason (who gets a big assist in his first movie from dear old Mom). And "they" are the young hotties (including Kevin Bacon) doomed to discover "Friday The 13th" is the unluckiest day of all. But not for horror fans.
