A nice story that may be embellished with overacting and sad situations, but I welcomed it. Some of the true dog stories coming out of Japan can be drabby because the film crew just don't know how to get the dogs to act or the characters just aren't interesting. The animated young lady here helps to make this one of the best dog movies.
