Hysterical offbeat horror-comedy. In an apartment building full of strange people, the world's worst punk band, a couple who have killed a man and are trying to dispose of his rather rigid corpse, and an elderly couple who have decided to end their lives in a manner that Rube Goldberg would be proud of are under siege by a man-eating kotatsu, a kind of table/space heater combo found in Japan. Like the kotatsu this movie could only be made in Japan. Insane and quirky but amazingly fun to watch. Never serious and always fun, this is the ultimate in Saturday sfternoon popcorn sci-fi/horror/comedy. |
