This engrossing rags-to-riches story theme, Japanese style, has never been portrayed better. With its emotional highs and lows, "Escape From Poverty" is a vibrant, heartwarming, and often comical episodic production (Dorama).
From the start, it invites you to cheer for Ogawara (Yuji Oda), who struggles to overcome poverty and debt and provide a financially sound future for himself and his two younger brothers. Power, hard work and determination leads to an intriguing transformation. But if you're a Dr. Shiba fan ("He's Always There"), I warn you, you won't be seeing much of his personality in "Escape From Poverty". |
