I loved "Escape From Poverty", however the Japanese audio to English subtitles were a constant distraction and the worst interpretations I have ever seen.

The uses of masculine and feminine (especially the last episodes) were incorrect (men referred to as "her" and vice versa. I realize it isn't easy, but when the characters are speaking in English, should't the subtitles reflect the same exact words? Not on this disc set. I know a few words of Japanese, so in the final episode, when the main charcter says "I love you" to the woman, the subtitles said "I like you". No man's going to interrupt a wedding to tell a woman "I like you", for goodness sake! Throughout the episodes it was painfully obvious that the subtitles didn't accurately interpret what the characters were saying in Japanese.

The final episode was the WORST! During the most dramatic scene, I couldn't relate to what was being said because the Subtitles made very little sense. I had to guess and rephrase repeatedly.

Still I do appreciate the effort.
