I felt as if the movie lacked a certain ingredient, but I really can't put my finger on exactly what. I want to say lack of action or poorly choreographed action, but I dunno. Maybe I shouldn't look at this film as an action film as it features more of an artsy/drama type vibe...
It hurts to admit I know little about Genghis Khan despite taking World Civ twice in high school. When I hear the name Genghis I immediately picture this ruthless warlord who would slash your throat if you oppose him, while this movie portrays him as something entirely different.
I'm not giving up on the (planned) trilogy but I really hope the upcoming sequel delivers in ares this film did not deliver. |
