Plot:	A known womanizer and skilled swordsman is forced by his countrymen to marry his latest conquest, a peasant girl. But on his way to the wedding, he encounters a "fortune teller" who tricks him into enlisting in the King's army to follow his fortune...
Overview:	"Fanfan La Tulipe" is a swash-buckling romantic comedy full of fun and frolics, directed with finesse by Christian-Jaque and starring the legendary Gerard Philipe as the hero and the beautiful Gina Lollobrigida. Set during the reign of King Louis XV, Fanfan La Tulipe (Gerard Philipe), a known womanizer and skilled swordsman, is forced by his countrymen to marry his latest conquest, a peasant girl. But on his way to the wedding, he encounters a "fortune teller" who tricks him with predictions of marrying a princess, so he enlists in the King's army to follow his fortune. "Fanfan La Tulipe" is one of France's most popular historical-adventure films released for the first time in the UK, made in 1952, this is a wonderful timeless tale of love in war, a must-see for all film fans.
