Yuuji Nishizaki, a photographer of battlefield lost his passion towards his job since his wife passed away. After resigned from his job, he spends most of his time in mountains where he witnesses and accidentally photographs a mysterious red light cross over the sky.
Meanwhile, American forces strategic bomber known as "Midnight Eagle" suddenly vanished in the Northern Alps of Japan. Self-Defense Force assigned by Prime Minister Watarase to investigate on the accident was being attacked at Northern Alps too.
A young journalist, Shinichiro Ochiai felt something is behind Yuuji's picture and convinced Yuuji headed to Northern Alps. While investigating, they saved the life of Major Akihiko Saeki from self defense force. In Tokyo, journalist Arisawa Keiko who is the sister-in-law of Nishizaki is investigating on Ochial's picture. She was shocked to discover the secret behind the accident from a Chosun agent/ " Midnight Eagle" was loaded with a specialized nuclear warhead, which will exterminate the entire nation of Japan if it explode. Worst still, this nuclear warhead is activated. There's only 48 hours for Nishizaki, Ochiai and Saeki to save the life of Japanese...
