Although somewhat dated (the film was made in 1971), "Daughters Of Darkess" maintains its reputation as one of the most stylish Euro female vampire movies ever made. The movie is definitely carried by French lead actress Delphine Seyrig, who plays the ageless Countess Elizabeth Bathory to the hilt.

The plot centers around her seduction of a pair of attractive newlyweds who share a nearly deserted (off season) luxury seaside hotel with she and her lesbian lover. There are a few unresolved ambiguities to the characters, but it doesn't really get in the way of enjoying the film, which takes full advantage of some sumptuous locations (which are revisited and detailed in an interesting extra on the US DVD by Blue Underground).

While the film may not be as shocking as it was at the time of its initial release, it does continue to hold up well and continues to be a classic of the genre.
