ALTERNATE SYNOPSIS:
Mak Sheung, a middle aged newspaper editor, has two sons and a daughter. When his elder son Keung and daughter, Chun, are both aware of their father's loneliness, they persuade father to date the singer Siu Fung, living next door. She is quite fond of Mak and offers to take care of his 2-year-old boy during daytime. Despite his intention not to marry again, Mak is finally convinced by his beloved children to pursue Siu Fung. Incidentally, Siu Fung's cousin, Uncle Sam returns from USA with a proposal to marry her. Being afraid of losing her, Mak plans to frame Uncle Sam but finally fails. Siu Fung is so mad at Mak that she decides to marry her cousin. Mak feels miserable for losing Siu Fung when his children and friends are having a good time inside his house on New Year's Eve. While meditating on the veranda, Siu Fung suddenly appears.
