Great, gory action.
The Yakuza killed her family and she lost her hand. Replacing it with a mini-gun, she gets revenge in the blood splatter fest that only modern Japanese gore cinema can deliver.

Great japanese splatter film. It reminds me a lot of the '70s pinky violence movies from Toei.

The film is overrated, but it is good and it does have some great and gory action sequences. The movie is not for everyone's taste, but hey I absolutely loved "Hell Ride" and that movie is not for everyone.
"The Machine Girl" would definitely make a great comic series. Because that is how the movie feels. The film is fun but a lot of folks are calling this classic or epic. Don't believe the hype, the movie is fun and that's all it is.

PURE INSANITY!!! if you're not into crazy films then back off, otherwise this film is awesome for having everything mixed up into one and it's very extreme indeed.

"Machine Girl" is a crazy movie. It has some very extreme violence and some creative torture ideas. The blood and gore are pretty good in some parts and look poor in others. The story is basic: an average person becomes more than average to get revenge for the loss of a loved one. When Ami’s brother and friend are murdered by a local yakuza boss’ son, she joins with the friend's family to get their revenge.
What a thrill ride from start to finish. Gory fun galore. Great buy and highly recommended!
| If you're looking for a strong detailed story with good acting then stay away; but if you want insanity, gore, cool weapons, and most importantly a fun time then watch this. The plot could be summed up in two sentences but that's not what people are here for. Who needs that when you have ninjas, machine guns, chainsaws, flying guillotines, drill bras, and a fine meal of tempura Ami (Minase Yashiro)?
A great thing about this film is that it never takes itself seriously and people are slaughtered in comical fashion. I'm pretty sure that even unlimited machine gun rounds would not turn someone into a bloody skeleton. Adding to its over-the-top nature is the famous Japanese blood fountain which operated in overdrive in this one. The gore and makeup team did a great job in this as many of the kills were well made (especially the gangster that got shot in the back of the head). This is a very fun film, but probably not recommended for the squeamish or people who ask questions. Turn off your brain and enjoy the ride as the cult classic hall of fame should be rolling out the red carpet for this one while Quentin Tarantino wishes he could make a film this cool. |

Over-the-top insane gore-fest with great story and humour to boot. If you are looking for a serious, credible addition to the annals of cinema, this is not for you. If, however, you love Peter Jackson's "Bad Taste", Miike's "Fudoh: The Next Generation", and Fukasaku's "Battle Royale", then you will love this!
WOW, what a film. I don't think I have seen so much gore in a film like this one before. There are some crazy weapons in this movie, such as the flying guillotine 'chainsaw' and--who could forget?--the drill bra. If you like to see plenty of limbs get the chop and loads of blood squirting everywhere, then you've come to the right place. This is the beautiful Minase Yoshiro's debut film and she doesn't disappoint either. This is sure to entertain.

Great fun. Don't remember having this much fun with a gore film since "Dead/Alive". Even though I'm not a real fan of CGI gore, the effects were so over the top that I didn't really mind the few instances of computer generated mayhem. Nice to see someone remembers how to direct a fun exploitation film. Highly recommended
Yo! This joint is off the chain. Pure insanity. It's well put together but obviously low budget. It's so much fun that who cares how ridiculous some things are.

Totally insane bloodbath revenge movie. More insane characters, insane gadgets, and insane death scenes than ten Hollywood movies combined.

This is a bloody good time. It's not quite "Story Of Ricky" in terms of over-the-top gore, but it does have more than enough. A thoroughly enjoyable flick if you just want to have fun.

A no-limit killer-gadget revenge bloodfest, with a clear-cut distinction between the good and the evil. The fight scenes are great, very imaginative, surprising, and exciting. The heroine is great, as are her friends. It's a great drama, both serious and self-mocking. I loved it!
This is the best over-the-top cheese gorefest since "Riki-oh". Hot chicks, cool ninjas, sick weapons, and buckets of blood. Awesome, check your brain at the door and have a blast.
Here is a full force vengeance movie directed at high school punks and bullies and even their parents. You'll be rooting for the heroine as she becomes a relentless killing machine against her brother's killers. There's manga-type blood and gore and plenty of it.
Entertaining movie. Perfect for a night when you don't know what to watch but want to occupy yourself without too much thinking or analyzing a flick.
I hate to be the one that doesn't go apesh$t over this flick, but I thought the gore was a little too over-the-top. Combine that with the high school acting and at times this flick bordered on a cartoon to me. I still think it's worth viewing, I just can't give this 5 stars.

Wow, everything that you dreamed is all inside the movie. Ninjas, Tempura, Yakuza, Drill Bra, Bloody Comedy, Happy Family (Living Hell), Psychos, Chainsaw. I don't want to spoil it. If you only want to have some fun and laugh out loud, this is your movie. Forget the plot. It's like trash cinema. The acting was like high school but the blood was WOW. If you want trash cinema, but entertaining: here, I wish you good luck.
