Plot:	Reality and fiction blur as two filmmakers are slowly engulfed in a world that eerily mirrors the screenplay they are working on, about a deadly worldwide epidemic. Overview:	After a disastrous computer failure the screenplay of The Inspector and the Prostitute is lost. The director and screenwriter of the film (Lars von Trier and Niels Vørsel playing themselves) are faced with the daunting task of coming up with a new script in five days. The story is about the worldwide spreading of a killer epidemic. The director and screenwriter, however, just as the characters in the film they are creating, are unaware that a real-life epidemic is rapidly closing in on them right there. As the film's cast sit around a table, fiction and reality fuse in a hypnosis scene in which the actors are devoured by their own film. The last fifteen minutes are a veritable visionary nightmare. In fact, in some of its aspects, the ending of Epidemic already announced the director's next film Riget – a bloodcurdling soap opera set in a universe so terrifying it could have made even masters of horror such as Dario Argento or George Romero tremble.
