Plot:	This is the true story of Rose, a glamorous Shanghai nightclub singer, who struggles to survive in seventies Australia with two young children. Based on writer/director Tony Ayres' own life.
Overview:	Based on writer/director Tony Ayres' own life, this is an epic tale of mothers, sons, daughters, unrequited love, betrayals, and secrets. In 1964, Rose Hong (Joan Chen), a Shanghai nightclub singer, marries and migrates to Victoria with her two kids, Tom (Joel Lok) and May (Irene Chen). Rose falls in love with Joe (Qi Yu-Wu), who is several years younger than her. But Joe feels the strain of this relationship and finds that he has more in common with May... How will the conflict be settled?
