Two legendary swordsmen prepare to face off in an epic duel. Only one will be left standing. However, not until the ending are their true motives revealed.
Overview:
From the production team of A MAN CALLED HERO comes this big-budget costume swordplay drama which cost over 60million HK dollars. Apart from an impressive cast, it is filled with breathtaking visual effects, especially the duel between two leading actors in the finale, which probably is the finest moment. Set in Ming Dynasty, the story begins with Secret Agent 009 (Cheung Ka Fai) carrying his task to arrest the cruel and mysterious 'King of Thief", an incarnation of the respectful head of a martial arts fraction. On his way, he meets "God of Sword" (Ekin Cheng), who rescues a beautiful girl Ms. Yip (Kristy Yeung) and falls in love with her. "Holy Sword" (Andy Lau) requests for a contest with "God of Sword" on September 15 at the apex of the Forbidden City. The secret admirer of "Holy Sword" (Zhao Wei) tries to stop the fight, but in vain. Meanwhile, 009 discovers beneath the duel lies a conspiracy to assassinate the Emperor.
