For the first hour a number of sub plots are developed that leaves you wondering which one is going to develop as the main driver for the story. Lee Hoi San and Fong Hak On are two wanted criminals who have a score to settle with Wing Chun master Lang Chang (Melvin Wong). Lang Chang takes Fatty Kwai as his student while his usual charge Ah Wa (Norman Chui) goes to learn kung fu from a Shaolin monk. There is much interplay between all of the characters that adds colour to the plot and makes it generally interesting. Subtle comedy features that is often generally amusing and the general tone of the film is light until the final showdown.

The action is quite simply fantastic. Anyone who appreciated 'Warriors 2' or 'Prodigal Son' will find much to enjoy here with the intricate Wing Chun inspired fight choreography. Melvin Wong is someone who usually stands on the sidelines but proves himself more than accomplished and able to handle the complex moves. Norman Tsui is as good as one might expect but having two villains of the calibre of Fong Hak On and Lee Hoi San is the real selling point. The 2 vs 2 staff fight that features in the film's climax is mindblowing; wonderfully edited and filmed with incredible pacing.
