| Germany was a fairly quiet country in the world of filmmaking in the 70s, especially in the world of exploitation, especially in contrast to its neighbors--the French, British, and Italians. But what they did contribute to the world of 70s exploitation is entirely their own.
The "Schoolgirl Report" series is pretty much a series of sex scenes inter-cut with man-on-the-street interviews, so it's a very efficient sex movie that cuts out all the characters and plot outside of showing naked people having sex. It does mix it up with varying kinks and varying situations both funny and serious. This movie has the reputation of being the most "out there" in terms of kinks among the series, which is the reason why I bought it--you can't make crazy statements and not get me at least curious, especially in respect to the fact that the original DVD release was [limited because it was too controversial for a wide release], which has since been changed.
These movies are all fairly the same. If you've seen one you've seen them all, which really makes it a bit pointless to watch them all, unless you're really into this kind of stuff. It reminded me of the old HBO show "Real Sex" that was made up of vignettes with interviews in between them, but this is much more exploitative in "uncovering" the seedy underbelly of German life.
A unique 70s time capsule with a swinging soundtrack. If you've seen all the exploitation from Europe and were wondering what the Germans were up to, this is it. Not great, but it has that strange uniqueness that makes it watchable. |
