| Overview: | Kanzo Sensei is an impressively artistic and emotive film chronicling one doctor's struggle to cure hepatitis. Dr. Akagi's research support is cut off once Japan's government and people commit to fighting an unwinnable war against the United States in the 1940s. He is forced to make do with a ragtag group of cohorts and will power alone, and he earns the nickname "Dr. Liver". This film is based on the Japanese book "Dr. Liver" by Ango Sakaguchi.
