Isaac Florentine continues his straight-to-DVD success with "Undisputed 2", a sequel that thankfully doesn't stay very true to the original.

The acting is pretty good for what it is. Scott Adkins gives the best performance of his career, thus far. Isaac Florentine’s direction is always welcomed and much improved. It’s more sophisticated, yet still stylish in its usual forms. The story is probably where the film needs the most work. It’s a typical wrongfully accused prison/boxing movie, that does little to work on the character created in the first film.

JJ Perry did an excellent job choreographing the action. He really lets Scott Adkins shine without having boring middle parts, like in "Special Forces". Michael Jai White also looks pretty good. For a boxing movie, they really kept the fights interesting. It's not realistic kickboxing or mixed martial arts, but it does the job of entertaining.

I enjoyed this movie, but it still has its fair amount of problems. Martial arts fans will surely enjoy it, as long as you don't expect any realistic fighting.

"Undisputed 2" is an extrordinary return to cinema for director Isaac Florentine, since his hiatus after "Special Forces". Michael Jai White and Scott Adkins light up the screen, as the film takes audiences on a much deeper journey into the life of the film's lead character, George Chambers, orignally played by Wesley Snipes in "Undisputed".

Action fans, particularly martial arts fans, will be pleased by what the film has to offer, with the evolution of the film's platform from boxing, to mixed martial arts. The film's story also serves its purpose in developing Chamber's character on a vast level that goes beyond simple action filmmaking.

Unfortunately, like most of Florentine's previous films, despite the improvements he's made, he still bears a tendency to make little mistakes, which further impede him from making it into mainstream Hollywood. Nevertheless, "Undisputed 2" leaves no regrets for action fans, especially those who have waited for Florentine to return to the director's chair!
