The opening fight between Ti Lung and Lau Kar Yung sets the tone for a real classic kung fu film. The Monk Wu Sung, a role Lung reprised twice more, is an interesting character. The fights are well choreographed and there is a small hint of humor in the appropriate places. I had not seen this film before and am truly glad it's now a part of my library.

First of all, I must say that I loved "All Men Are Brothers" and "The Water Margin", otherwise known as "Seven Blows Of Dragon" Part 1 & 2, and I was expecting more of the same here in part 3. I must warn you that this is not the case with this movie. To be honest, it's hard to tell why this movie is even subtitled "7 Blows Of Dragon Part 3".

The movie focuses on Ti Lung's character the whole way, so don't expect to see a variety of characters like in parts 1 & 2. I thought that this one also lacked focus and seemed to not even make sense at times. For example, in the first 15 minutes of the movie, Ti Lung is being escorted to prison by two officers and they start drinking together while he is bonded? Then while the officers are drunk and passed out, Ti Lung befriends a couple but he refuses to take their advice to flee. The officers are woken up and the couple then asks Ti Lung to stay for dinner. He does stay with them and the officers are not shown again until the next day?

Little things like this usually don't bother me at all, but there were so many of them in this movie that it often became difficult to even understand. Even the end was confusing. Ti Lung makes it to safety and and is given the beads and head piece that he wore in the previous two movies. It then flashes to the character from the two previous movies and ends. It almost suggest that this was a prequel rather than a sequel to "All Men Are Brothers" and "The Water Margin".

The end fight is very good, but it doesn't make up for the first hour of the movie. I'd suggest watching the first two movies in this series and pretending that this thirrd one does not exist.

Great Ti Lung movie. The only complaint is how short it is, coming in at around 80 minutes. The acting and action are first rate, which makes this a must-see for martial arts fans.

This film opens with a good old school knockdown, drag out fight, between Liu Chia Yung and Ti Lung. It just gets better from here, starring Ti Lung as a no nonsense hero, imprisoned for killing his brother's murderers. Our hero soon gets caught up in intrigue as he helps the prison chief's son regain control of a paradise named "The Happy Forest". Unfortunately the prison chief's boss is the hidden enemy who wants to secretly keep control of the town. This leads to betrayal and a bloody finale that shows how Ti Lung becomes Monk Wu San from "The Water Margin", and its sequel "All Men Are Brothers". We clearly see great acting as well as action from Ti Lung and a good supporting cast. A must-see for all Ti Lung fans!

Righteousness, magnetic presence and suffering: This sums up the career and films of Ti Lung. He is perfectly cast and this is a well made film. I only give this ****1/2 because he has done even better in other films. Do see this one - I find it particularly interesting to see Ti Lung at age 26 showing so much of the dignified gravity to be found in his films made decades later.

Good movie with Ti Lung. He totally dominates in his role as a righetous rebel who has been inprisoned for killing the man who killed his brother. The finale is a bloody mess. We also get to see how his character, Wu Sung, transforms into the "monk" we all know from Water Margin and All Men are Brothers. A must for all Ti Lung fans

This film starts out with a blistering confrontation between Wu Sung (Ti Lung) and Xi Min Xing (Lau Ka Wing), which results in the death of Xi Min Xing. Wu Sung is off to prison to pay for his crime, but his name as the 'Tiger Killer, Hero Wu Sung' preceeds him and he has a pampered and rather short stay at the prison. To gain his release, he helps to remove a town bully who has taken over all of the businesses of a small town and leaves the towns people to live in fear. Once thoroughly beaten and humiliated, the town bully swears revenge; a revenge which leads to an incredible and intense finale. Ti Lung is in top form in this one. Films like 'Outlaw of the Forest' is why I own over 80 Ti Lung films.

Ti Lung recreated the character of Wu Sung in the film entitled 'Tiger Killer' which is also a fantastic film.
