Having read the Manga and seen the anime, I had very high hopes for this series. And it didn't disappoint. GTO is not only my favorite anime, but also my favorite live action TV show now.

The show is like a cheesy after school special, with morals being taught in every episode. That may not sound too appealing, but it is done in a way that is funny and heart warming.

The situations are hilarious, and the acting from Takashi Sorimachi and Nanako Matsushima is perfect.

Fun comedy, entertaining TV drama with Takashi Sorimachi. Just sit back and enjoy the drama.

GTO was my favourite manga in book form. In this series it took me a short time getting accustomed to the look of the Onizuka, as I already had an image in my imagination from the books that was different. Once the adventures unfolded in the series (it didn't take long) the image in my head was gone and the actor on screen was Onizuka.

Always fighting the system, always defending his students, portraying an image of a ruffian with no morals who resorts to violence all the time when in fact the opposite is true. The most moral teacher in the school who uses his brains or his students' brains to solve the many issues that appear throughout this series. Being a TV show, don't expect the highest production values, but the plots are good, the acting is good, and the resolutions--however unforseen at the beginning of each episode--are always the ones a you would hope for. This series is an enjoyable way to spend a few hours.

The live-action version of the popular manga series, with Sorimachi Takashi and Matsushima Nanako. The story follows Onizuka (Sorimachi) a former gang member turned high school teacher, who despite all the school politics and complaints from parents, stands behind his students no matter what. Each episode focuses on one of Onizuka's students and the problems that they face.

It's an amazing series and worthy of any Japanese TV series collection.
