Didn't feel this film was as good as it could have been. Lots of double crossing and villainy by the usual suspects: the Japanese.

I thought this feature using the Japanese versus the Chinese formula was entertaining. The Japanese steal Ling Yun's family land, inadvertantly kill his father, rape his foster sister (the lovely Lily-Li), and beat the crap out of him a couple of times! Though formulaic at times, Ling Yun gets his revenge. He saves his fiancee Ching Li, kills the bad guys, and uses his deadly throwing knives in an action-filled grand finale.
This was a film using the old, tired formula of the low life, sneaky, law breaking Japanese bullying the righteous, upstanding, loyal Chinese. This formula works only if you have a good cast and good fighting...this film had neither.

| N | I did'nt think it was that bad. I liked Ling Yun in the lead, and I thought he had good chemistry with Ching Li. Granted he was not Bruce Lee and Ching Li was not Nora Miao, but I thought they were okay! | Sgt. T |
