DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
In my past films, I couldn’t get a good grasp of how I want to approach the films and it took too much time to go as far as even selecting the actors.
In Turning Gate, I set the standard for this film by figuring out to what point I’ll map out the story, and to what point I’ll watch and decide on the actors. So the actors got their lines on the morning of the shoot.
The actors saw the storyline for this film only once. As if the actors heard of someone else’s travelogue, the storyline will simply leave a faint memory for them. Overall, the acting won’t rely on memories, but it will be half memories and the other half will rely on something else. This is what the actors will show. |
