Director Zero Chou
Born in Keelung, Taiwan in 1969, Zero Chou received her B.A. in Philosophy from National Cheng-Chi University. She entered filmmaking because of her attraction to its unique combination of content and form. She began her career working in non-fiction, heralded as "the most talented documentary director to emerge in recent years in Taiwan". She has received various awards around the world for her films "A Film About the Body" (1996), "Floating Islands: Before the Radiation" (1999), "Poles Extremity" (2002) and "Timewalker" (2003).
After the critical success of her debut film "Splendid Float", which won the prize as Best Taiwan Film at the prestigious Golden Horse Awards in 2004, she presents another visually stunning tale of hidden passion in "Spider Lilies". Her narrative style is distinguished by a sense of poetry and philosophical contemplation.
Isabella Leong as Takeko
Leong came to international attention for her leading role in Pang Ho-cheung's movie "Isabella," which competed in Berlin International Film Festival 2006. As a result of her exquisite performance, she received many offers from European and Asian directors and solidified her position as the most exciting young actress of her generation in Hong Kong.

Rainie Yang is a rising pop icon in Taiwan and all around singing/acting sensation. She entered the entertainment industry as a member of a popular girl band, and acted in many television dramas including landmark series "Meteor Garden." After the girl band disbanded in 2002, Rainie extended her career as a TV host, working alongside the most popular comedians of the time. She became an overnight sensation with her role in top rated television series, "Devil Beside You". The success of the drama also made her song and album "My Intuition" a top hit. "Spider Lilies" is her first leading role on the big screen. |
