A wonderful cinematic version of the Ejima-Ikushima Affair of 1713, starring the incomparable Nakama Yukie.

This movies gives an excellent representation of the power struggle between the women of the Oh-Oku. It is a story of loyalty, betrayal, love and power. The subtle dialogue and excellent performances make this a great drama.

The movie was really good, talks about even though back then the man was in charge, it seems like all the woman had higher ability to take charge. However, this movie was LONG, it takes time to talk about every little detail.
