 | | | | This movie is very interesting. The way it was filmed, I felt as if I was in this strange world. The actors well performed their characters. I recommend this movie and enjoyed it! | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | Now here is a movie with great action and humor. The reviews don't tell you much, but the first five minutes had me laughing. It starts like this: girl likes girl, girl likes guy and girl, twin girls like guy, guy only wants one girl when he could have them all. Other than that, the fighting was superb in this movie. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

| With 'Maidens of Heavenly Mountain' as part of the title you know you're in for seeing beautiful, mischievous women wreak havoc on those standing in their way. This movie combines the best of Asian comedy and action that will keep you laughing and engaged throughout. It is worth viewing this movie several times just to watch the antics a maiden named 'purple' inflicts on her rivals and a haven't--got-a-clue monk caught between the power struggle for a dying master's gift. There is the usual, white-bearded-student who-betrays-his-master then goes out to destroy all rivals so he alone could possess the master's secret. Add to this the jealous twin sister of the master's lover (played brilliantly by Brigette Lin) who wants to destroy the white haired student and possess the secret herself. Throw in another childhood rival, add the witty and charming Purple, and you have a wonderful blend of fantasy that rates best in its field. Costumes, sets, sword wielding action, flying maidens, confused monks---they're all here for the feast. If you've never seen a Chinese fantasy movie, I suggest this one as the yard stick to measure others by. |
